If you need to edit pdfs, you can also try to open them in Illustrator. Illy is not designed as a
pdf editor, but since the Illustrator file format is based on (or strongly related to) the pdf
format, it can be worth a shot, e.g. if you get technical illustrations you need to rework in any

The import results vary widely, so don't expect too much. And Illy can only open one page of a
pdf. Replace pages as needed in Acrobat.
