1. Select Insert -> Object -> Create from File tab.

2. Navigate to the Visio file.

3. Click Insert

4. Decide whether you want the diagram embedded
in the Word doc or linked and check boxes as
appropriate.

5. Click OK.

In my experience some Visio elements scale inconsistently
if resizing is attempted in Word, so the Visio diagram is
best created at the size desired in the finished document.
