The answers that Geoff Hart and Bill Swallow contributed were good. I'd
like to add one thing that might clue you in as to the 'why'. Machine
translators *CAN* be good in the hands of the skilled translator. But
machine translation is quite tricky even for them because they have to
seriously and thoroughly edit the output. This is no small matter.
