Bonnie, et al,
For me personally, not very good.
I have been looking for over a year, and no serious 'bites' Searched as
Systems Analyst, Tech Writer, Tech Editor, Documentation Specialist.
"Just what is it you are looking for?" Duh
Don't have the 'tools' experience, too varied an experience level, too
'focused on US Govt environment (??) (Based in WashDC for 20 years, not quite
what we need, etc.
Have been consulting since 1989, and 'many' contracts/employment situations
to put into resume. "Oh, can you give us a chronological resume, rather than
the functional one you have provided."
"Oh, as a systems analyst, you have to pass this programming test."
Needless to say, since I left the programming arena in 1987, I did not pass.
However, the Career OneStop office here in Kissimmee/Saint Cloud have been
instrumental in having me look at other opportunities.
And, my experience, might not be yours.
Hope this does not present the Tech Writer climate in Florida in a negative
way.
I would not leave on a bet. However, I am open for occasional travel,
telecommuting, etc.
