I think you're misremembering. InDesign was always promoted as a PageMaker
replacement, but I don't think anyone at Adobe has pushed it as a
Frame replacement
yet.

Although, like most other posters, I think it's going to be the code
base for either
the eventual FM replacement (or, dare I say it -- an upcoming version of FM).
