To All,

It is my experience that if you periodically use "Save As" instead of
"save", you will keep the size down.

Word does keep A:: of the changes that you have made to a document until you
"Save As"

It is sometimes called 'garbage collection' in the ram/memory management
vernacular.

Have you ever gotten the message 'Not enough memory, please close a window?'

It is the same thing, and you don't have to go through any gyrations to
'correct the problem'.

This has worked for me since V 2.x of word (proxy 1986)

Hope this also answers some questions.

Sincerely,

Harry
