InDesign is really good for making "flashy" documents, the only comepetitor in the realm of more
visually/artistical layout is QuarXPress (and Quark is losing ground).

My favourite features:

- Frames can be any shape and can be changed from text to graphic frames by a mouseclick.

- You can use native Illustrator and Photoshop files. The tight integration really save time when
using the whole suite.

- The best for last: The typographic engine (already commented on in this list). There simply is
no other software that offers this good looking typo. (OK, one could argue about TeX, but I think
that is not applicable here.)


Most missed:
- The numbering/structuring capabilities of Frame - no live headers, no complex numbering.

- Sideheads. These can only be faked.


New with ID CS2 (which I don't have yet):
- anchored frames

- drag'n'drop editing

- better Word import
