Joe,

Again, the way to get rid of the extra menus and toolbars is to open Tools |
Options | View, and deselect "Windows in Taskbar." Now when you choose
Windows | Arrange All, multiple Word documents will open in a single Word
window with shared menus and toolbars.

Now if only someone could figure out how to turn off the multiple toolbars
in Word. If I have two (or more) docs open in the same window, I do not need
a toolbar for each one. I want a single shared toolbar, as they used to do
in Word 97. From 2000 on, they did away with the shared toolbars. Just my
humble opinion but if I am comparing docs or copy/paste from one to the
other, I want screen real estate not duplicate menu bars.
