I am not aware that there is a "technical writing" job in the legal
field, although I suppose an equivalent might be a paralegal.
However, few paralegals do any real writing. Most of them work with
"canned" verbiage written by lawyers, most of whom are not very good
writers themselves. Other tasks they may perform involve legal
research.
Should anyone know any different, I would be very interested to hear
of it. It is true that I have not practiced law for many years now,
and perhaps some of these practices may have changed that I am not
aware of.
