I recently tried out both Copernic and Google Desktop Search on a PC
with no Internet connection. Google Desktop Search is practically
useless without the Internet: You can't set user preferences and you can
only see partial results from a *local* file search. Copernic, OTOH,
seems to be fully functional without the Internet. Looks to me as if
privacy is still an issue when choosing a desktop search tool.
