Anonymous Poster asked: Has anyone
on the list ever been in a similar situation, or have
any ideas if this will have any bearing on the future
of my job or the future of my salary?
Poster,
I was in the exact same situation at a previous company. All the writers
were called into our managers' office and told that we were going from
salaried-exempt to hourly. The reason we were given was changes in
federal employment laws. Our boss told us that this was a good thing
because now if we worked 50 hours we would be paid for 50 oppose to 40
if we were still salary.
The company did downsize a few months later (and I lost my job), but I'm
not sure the two incidents were related.
Best of luck,
Ashaki
