You are correct... and yet....

I thought that even if you DO exclusively 'use your own templates", what it actually accomplishes is that your template in _addition to normal.dot_ is attached to the document.

You cannot divorce Word files from normal.dot. Your template doesn't replace normal.dot in YOUR files, it lives alongside normal.dot. ICK. BOO.

Or am I wrong? YAY!
