Here are some fun discussion starters:

1. Break into groups of 3 or 4 and describe your ideal
breakfast in detail. "Ideal" assumes there is no such
thing as fat or calories, and you have an endless
appetite. (If it's a fairly small class, you won't
need to break into groups.)

2. "Would You Rather...?" This is one of my
favorites. Ask questions like, "Would you rather
deliver pizza or babies?" "Would you rather have the
power to fly or to be invisible?" "Would you rather
have one close friend or lots of casual friends?" The
questions can be a mix of silly and serious, and
they're best used when people have the opportunity to
explain their answers. You can write the questions on
a piece of paper and have participants mingle around
the room with them, or you can do it in small groups
or as a large group.

3. Divide the room in half and moderate an impromptu
debate on President Bush's foreign affairs policy.
Just kidding.
