I have to agree with John. While I admit to being biased towards SnagIT (I've used it for years), I wasn't too sold on the new 'toys' like the torn edge, until I saw ther usefulness.
One of the applications I document is web-based and often I neither need nor can get the entire screen in the screenshot. With the torn edge, I can crop it to the section I need and the edge effect tells users that there is more to the actual screen than what I am showing.
