How about asking them if they would consider setting up a download manager to get The Real Thing, instead of assuming that they would reject any cooperative effort?

I've written tools to extract separate web pages from DTP docs, including WordBasic routines that trigger on specified heading levels to generate separate pages and link back to a common TOC. It's not a trivial exercise, and certainly not worth the effort for a one-off situation. I doubt the customer's customer would jump ship if presented with a viable option in a "let's try this, first" manner. People, even customers, are willing to meet you half-way if you can show them the benefit of the effort.
