TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
There is Online Learning at http://www.online-learning.com/. Their courses
are accredited by Carleton University in Canada. They are about Information
Design, however, they do have a series of courses on technical writing.
There is also the University of California Berkeley Extension Online
(http://learn.berkeley.edu/). They have a certificate program in Technical
Communication. I took a couple of courses from them and my instructor was
John Tabor. He was good.
Some of the other campuses of the U. of California system also have
Technical Communication courses or programs. One that I know of is the UCLA
online extension.
