What exactly is wrong with "whilst" and "amongst"?
I understand that Americans choose not to use them, but does that mean that no one else should?
IMO, Why use an archaic term like "whilst" when "while" will do? Why use "utilised" instead of "used"? It isn't a creative writing exercise.
I don't think the issue here is specifically to do with "British" or "American" english, it is more to do with using plain english, of which I, amongst many, am an advocate ;o)
