1. What newsletters do you subscribe to (technical, language-related,
misc.)?

-- Techwrl

--Lone Writer STC SIG

--USA Today (News, Travel, Tech, and Books)

--Breaking News from FoxNews.com

--University of Minnesota Alumni newsletter

--UMA Chicago chapter newsletter

-- Assorted others that do not come on a regular basis, i.e. Techpubs.com,
Top 7, and several corporate newsletters

2. What sites do you bookmark and access regularly?

--Fox News

--STC

--Intercom

--Corporate intranet and extensions from main intranet page

--NetLearn

--Books 24x7

3. What diversions do you subscribe to or regularly access? How much time a
day do you feel is justified in accessing/reading these kinds of things? (A
former team leader suggested 5 minutes for every hour.)

--Rhapsody To Go

--Occasional hits on Fox News to clear my head and keep from snapping

--I tend to do non-work activities during a break period or lunch. On
occasion a co-worker will send a web link and I will check it out. As for
how much time… I don't think you can set a hard time limit. Just as long as
the job gets done.

4. And perhaps to put everything in proportion, how many hours a week were
you hired to work and do you actually work?

-- 40 and Yes, because I am getting paid to work…I could easily put in 50 or
more and still have plenty to do. Granted, there have been times where the
workload was smaller than normal, but there is always something to do. Take
a NetLearn course, read a chapter of a book on Books 24x7, organize your
filing system, or whatever else you can find.
