Good Morning,
Does anyone know, or know how to find out, what the going price for translators is? I need to have someone to translate technical documents into French and German from English. I know there are some translators that advertise on elance.com, so I will look there as well.
Thanks,
Melissa

Hi Melissa,

I am with Cassandra -- check Proz.com for the going rates for the language combo you need. Then if you happen to post a job there, choose not a translator or agency that claims to do every language combination for low low prices but instead a freelancer/agency that costs more but demonstrates that they specialize in what you specifically need. A lot of good translators are of course also often too busy to check the job boards, so it is worth it to search for a few profiles and contact those people directly.

Good luck,

Steven
