I think we're on the same page, just saying things differently. I equate
"customizing toolbars" with "annotating help files" where the user is making
modifications to the output, not the source files. I have no problem with
customizing the output and so I agree with what you say below.
It's when people muck around with the source code that I say, "Hold the
phone!" <grin>
