ANNOUNCE: Summer Course in Technical Editing at UC Berkeley Extension
UC Berkeley Extension will offer a course in technical editing this summer as part of the Certificate Program in Technical Communication. (See link for description.)
Technical Editing (X437) is a required course for the Certificate in Technical Communication. The course includes 30 hours of instruction, assignments in a range of disciplines, case studies, and a comprehensive final exam. Carolyn Rude's Technical Editing serves as the primary text, with additional work drawn from Edward Tufte's Visual Explanations: Images and Quantities, Evidence and Narrative and Joseph Williams's Style: Ten Lessons in Clarity and Grace. Students receive a course reader of 30 articles selected for their discussions of current issues in the field.
Dates: Thursdays, July 6 to September 7
Time: 6:30 to 9:30 P.M.
