Re: Fw: Job Titles
My favorite title is the one Guy Haas uses on his "personal" business
cards:
Software Exegete
It says exactly what he does, and also serves as an "icebreaker" (unless
you happen to know what exegete means!)
My own preferred title (being a fan of steampunk) would be
"Scrivener-Wright"

It's always a hard problem, especially when management want to show the
possibility of an upward path. I've been:
Instructor
Programmer
"Hey, you!"
Person who can type
Technical writer
Senior technical writer
Principal technical writer
Senior principal technical writer
Lead technical writer
Documentation engineer
"Just what do you do around here?"
Wrangler
Groundskeeper
Others among us have had job titles equally as exciting, and I doubt any
of them will actually turn out to be what your new boss wants. I might
suggest Prestidigitator or Documentationalist as further possibilities.
Something with "Analyst" in the title might be good, but don't let them
abbreviate it.
