Re: "Center of Excellence"
"Center of Excellence" is a term that seems to have originated in the
academic community. Does anyone know the origin of the term?
I don't know its origin, but in my experience, if you're lucky, it
translates as "people who actually know what they're doing." Most
"centers of excellence" are really just centers of competence; these
days, I'm pathetically grateful for competence when and where I
encounter it, so I'm not complaining.
