Hi Everyone,

You all are very helpful. I solved my first big question. Now I have a
couple more, if you don't mind.

So our general policy is to design for 1024x768. But, if I RECORD in
that resolution, setting my browser to full screen (f11), then publish
to SWF file, and play back, I get a horizontal scroll bar because all
the IE browser "stuff" takes up space (the grey frame, the status bar,
etc.). I don't want to tell users to adjust to full screen (f11) before
they play my sim.

What I mean in short, is that the user doesn't automatically "see" the
recorded vertical scrollbar (which I need them to click on occasion).
They'd first have to click their browser's horizontal scrollbar to even
see the recorded one, then they can use it.

I don't like using the RESIZE MOVIE feature because it makes things
blurry. Are there any other options for me?

My thought right now is to record in 800x600- which plays back nicely in
1024-x768- what the users will have. My only hesitation is that there's
a bunch of extra white space that could be used somehow.

Is there a different way to get around this- while recording in
1024x768. For example, is there a way to get the simulation to play NOT
inside a browser window?

Thank you very much for reading this and any tips.

Deepali

Thanks, Rick. That is a bummer. So I think you're suggesting that I
create a "stockpile" of customized captions with arrows in a few
different places, so I have more to choose from and at least they're
somewhat customized?

Thanks for the link and the advice.

Hi again Deepali

This isn't possible in Captivate. Captivate doesn't provide any drawing
tools to use. However, with a bit of creativity, you could certainly
create
a few different arrow images that could be strategically placed and
combined
with other caption styles and whatnot.

For creating your own customized caption styles, try the following link.

Cheers... Rick :)

Ok- I realized I should just send one of my questions here- the most
important one-- does anyone know how to "draw" in Captivate? I do not
want to use the pre-set captions that have a little pointy arrow-like
tip. I actually want a caption with an arrow that I draw, going from the
text box to the place the user needs to click...

Thank you for any help!
