One of the best sci-fi writers of all time (John Sladek) WAS a tech
writer at the start and end of his career. His output includes a (slyly
funny) book on using XYWrite as well as the classic Tik Tok and Roderick
the Robot stories. One of his later works is about techwriters at a
corporation in Minnesota, well worth seeking out. Title is "Bugs", and
its pretty hard to find.

I agree!

Turning this back (almost) on-topic... scifi authors (such as Dick)
were actually one of the major reasons I wanted to go into Tech
Writing!

If you read scifi, no clarification is necessary. If you don't read
scifi... your loss.
