I get the impression that the original poster of this message had no say
in who did the writing that was farmed out. Someone higher up picked
them (probably because they were the cheapest), and everyone had to deal
with that.
All well and good, but this has no bearing on whether the contract
itself was explicit with the work arrangement.
Not all companies welcome input/criticism of their contractors from
inside employees, no matter how bad the work is. In those situations, if
you stick your neck out too far, you just might get your head lopped
off.
Again, that's fine. In that case, show up at 9, leave at 5, have a few
drinks and call it a day.
But, if you're *responsible* for taking what they write and publishing
it, then you have a say, especially if it's impacting your own
productivity. Sure, not all companies welcome input, but if your
productivity is suffering their ineptitude, say something (at least
spin a positive).
Or not.
But I was taking the proactive stance. I'm not one to sit by and let a
bad situation fester, and I question why anyone would want to post
about such a situation without wanting advice on the situation.
One final thought... All companies love good advice. The trick is how
to deliver it, and that will differ from company to company, and from
person to person. But companies are generally interested in how to
save money, improve efficiency, and grow sales. Otherwise they
wouldn't be in business.
