Put another way, is there business case to justify the cost for the research time it sounds like you're going to have to put into figuring out how to implement the requested functionality. Maybe you should go back to the person(s) who requested this ability and ask why they need this functionality and then you might be able to propose a different solution...one that won't cost as much. :-)
