Hmm... If I were the requestor and my techwriter told me that, I'd
probably wonder why every new commercial work I see has a copyright
notice, even though it's not required. Then I'd call my lawyer and ask.

After he explained it to me, I think I'd spend at least a few moments
congratulating myself for having been smart enough to hire a
professional writer, rather than a lawyer, to create my user's guides
and product manuals.
