Hi all,

Couple clarifications to some comments I've received both on and off list.

Before ever making any steps in this direction, we contacted our users
and did a large survey. The survey covered roughly 25% of our users
and had your typical 10% or so response rate. Not the best, but I've
seen worse. Point: I didn't come to you first. I went to the user
(like I should).

The results showed *some interest in *some groups for moving this
direction. Obviously there were *some who opposed the idea. Our
phasing out plan was meant to judge the reaction of our users at each
phase beyond the results of a survey. If our current phase (smaller
manual, better Help) meets with approval (which it has so far), we may
just stay here for a while. Point: Nothing is set in stone.

Personally, I've been rather neutral to the project except that I
think it is an idea worth looking at and exploring. However, if it
doesn't work, it doesn't work. Rigid airships were also interesting
ideas, but I have no intention of letting things go down like the
Hindenburg no matter how "interesting."

Thanks to all who have responded. From what I can tell, most of you
see more red flags than green pastures. Rest assured that your
experiences and wisdom have not fallen on deaf ears, and that I will
remember them as I fly this lead ballon.

Thanks again, and please, keep the thoughts coming.

Dave
