Sorry that my point wasn't clear enough. I'm a professional tech writer
with a minor addiction to copyediting. ("Hello, my name is Dan, and I
believe in the 12-point program..."). What the draft desperately needs
is a professional copyeditor.

Come to think of it, since we're talking about an international writing
standard, maybe they should go crazy and hire *three* professional
copyeditors. It's a small investment, compared with the cost of actually
complying with standards.
