Subject:Need Help to Use Frame as Single-Source Solution From:"Trina Pearce" <tpearce -at- ubiquitysoftware -dot- com> To:<techwr-l -at- lists -dot- techwr-l -dot- com> Date:Fri, 28 Jul 2006 14:02:42 -0400
My company is looking for a single-source solution for our
documentation.
We currently use Frame and RoboHelp. We provide our customers with PDFs
and Help (for Web-based software). We currently have no requirements
for printed documentation, but need to leave this option open.
Our goal is to move forward to where current technology trends are
going. Since we are all familiar and comfortable with structured and
unstructured Frame, we'd like to stick with it to reduce learning curve
issues with new tools. Also, we can put money budgeted for new doc tools
towards training or outsourcing template development.
I believe what we'd like to do is move to structured Frame, or possibly
XML. Also, we'd like to use WebWorks. However, we don't have in-house
development to design structured templates, etc. If this is the right
solution, we'd need a third-party to do this for us.
Can someone contact me to let me know what the best solution is for us
to move forward using either Frame on its own or Frame and WebWorks?
Thanks,
Trina
