Tools/Protect Document has an option to lock styles. I haven't tried it in
practice, so I don't know how well it works or what it's side effects might
be.
Good luck.

Subject: locking out styles in MS Word
Hello again fellow Word frenzied :)
Hope you are all well and enjoying the day!
My one "technical" question for now is:
How can a creator/author of a document or template lock the styles out from
other users modifying them? This would be in order to "force" the user to
type in the standard company format.
And here's another question for some debate maybe:
Do you think it's better to force employees to create/edit documents using
standard set styles or do you think a stylesheet which describes the
standard formatting desired is a better way to make company documents look
consistent. Any thoughts?
