Subject:Inexpensive help authoring tool? From:"Elizabeth Shack" <eashack -at- gmail -dot- com> To:techwr-l -at- lists -dot- techwr-l -dot- com Date:Sun, 22 Oct 2006 17:21:22 -0400
Hi all,
I'm supposed to recommend a help authoring tool. I've checked the list
archives and various websites, but having never used one before, am
not sure what to look for. We'll be writing help for at least two
systems: one for the menu in a piece of software and one for a
website. We'll be writing manuals (probably in Word and converting to
PDF) as well.
Doc-to-Help looks good but is probably out of our price range. Has
anyone used WinCHM from Softany or Help & Manual? What about free
tools, like Microsoft's HTML Help?
Thanks for any advice.
Elizabeth
