I love SnagIt and it is worth every penny. But, if you can't handle the
price, there's another program I use that is free and very solid. It's
Paint.Net and it's easy to blur specific areas of an image.

Process:

1) Open image
2) Select area with a selection tool (i.e. square, circle, or lasso)
appropriate for the area you wish to blur
3) On the Menu bar select Effects > Blurs > Gaussian Blur

Repeat if necessary.

You can download Paint.Net here:

Note: You'll need the .Net 2.0 Framework installed.

I have some screenshots that have a lot of buttons on
them. The buttons are grouped for different functions,
like navigation, faults, etc. I'd like to alter the
screenshots so that all but one set of buttons is
grayed out. We have PhotoShop and Corel PhotoPaint.
Does anyone know a way to do this?

Thanks!
