We use Infomapping for policies and procedures where I am now. It is by no
means the first time I've used it--I started using Infomapping in the
mid-80's.

It is a very useful concept, especially if you have many areas creating
their own policy documentation. Each area has a person that has gone through
the formal training, and they produce the written policy. Before I came on
board, that was it. Now, I take that copy as a draft and either edit it and
return it for their changes, or edit it and publish it. It just depends on
my workload and who needs the document.

It has helped here, I have been told, to provide a framework for working
within.

Currently, I am converting all of the documentation to HTML, but that's
another story.

Do you have specific questions that I can help with? If I have experience to
relate, I would be glad to do that.

Cheers,

PT

Hi, Richard

I guess the answer is both at the moment. It's a concept I've
encountered a couple of times recently and I think it may be something
we can apply in our role here to formalise our document production
approach. Not sure what other products there may be to support and how
they compare with Info-Map, but any information or experience would be
useful.

Cheers.

Ian:

Do you specifically mean the Info Mapping product or info mapping in
general?

How did the techniques help/hinder the development process?
