Are we up to the stage of importing a 3D CAD file into Word that turns
into manipulable 3D when converted to PDF? From what I've read this is
not yet possible, but I might have missed something.

Anyone done 3D in PDF and if yes, with what tools?

TIA
Erika

There is Acrobat 3D, a specialized software from Adobe for incorporating 3D
CAD drawings into a document and then convert it to a pdf file. You can view
the pdf with 3D drawing, in the Acrobat Reader itself and can rotate, hide,
zoom, pan, add comments, and do many more things without the need to have
the source file. It supports around twenty different 3D input formats.
