I have belonged to one or another off-topic group since around 1995. There
are several out there, and with a little poking around, you're sure to find
one that you fit in with and one with a traffic pattern that suits you. The
one I subscribe to now has had as many as 7900 messages in one month, but
usually runs between 1000 and 2000 per month.

That said, I hardly notice a few extra messages on techwr-l. ;-)

And as for the topic labeling and all - does anyone honestly think that in
the 10+ years this list has been running it's the first time this subject
has come up? That it hasn't been implemented yet should tell you something.
The list is what it is, so relax and enjoy the ride.
