Wow! If I had known about this a month ago, I would have definitely
added it to my budget request. I still have one of those "puck" mice
that came with my old Sawtooth G4 Mac, which is possibly the worst mouse
ever made. I don't quite know how this relates to Technical Writing,
but looking at a product like the puck, I can't help but think there was
a horrendous breakdown in communications somewhere. Possibly a
marketing ploy involving a non-existent focus group or a group of
patients recovering from shock treatments. Some poor tech writer at
Apple probably shook his/her head, thought, "This is a horrible idea,
but nobody listens to me and crap it's almost five," and went on ahead
and documented the product before heading to the pub for a pint to wash
away product failure by association.
