Any members, ex-members, or "thinking about joining"
folks* here on techwr-l? What are your thoughts on the
organization? How about comparisons to STC?

Milan, I'm a member of both groups (STC and ISTC) and just renewed my
membership in both groups (I was one of the people muttering about STC
membership not having much value on the list earlier this year, but
have since learned a bit more about opportunites in my local chapter.)

I joined ISTC primarily because my company has a London office and I
anticipate both doing some work and some hiring there. ISTC does have
some international members but is heavily UK-focused; they have an
active e-mail discussion list and a good quarterly print publication.
The ISTC membership credential apparently has some value in UK
technical authoring circles. I've never attended an ISTC meeting or
conference in person, so can't speak to that.
