Conditional builds means you can tag topics in a way so that they to be
included in a build (say online build 1) and not in another (print build
1).


You could also use this feature for software products that have modules
that
some customers may have and others may not have. This allows you to
generate
a help file (or WebHelp, etc.) by picking and choosing which sections to
publish by applying tags to topics.

You could also do this with merged Webhelp, where you included some parts
of
the help file and not others depending on what the customer needed.
