Better still, if the agency is going to alter your resume, make sure you
get a copy *before* they send it, so you can review it to make sure they
aren't making claims about you that you can't support, and while you're
at it, check their edits. It's bad enough for an interviewer to spot an
error in your resume, but for it to be an error you didn't make would
be particularly galling.

One thing to note on resumes...if you are being placed or sent to an interview by a "head hunter" or agency...it is not uncommon for them to take the resume you gave them and rework it into their particular style and send that to the HR department where you are interviewing. It can be a little disconcerting when you expect to see the person interviewing you holding a resume that is yours...but you have never seen it before. I have seen other candidates get a little disoriented by this as well. It is probably a good thing to ask if you are going through an agency if you can see a copy of THE resume that they are sending, if it is not the one you gave them.
