Kevin,

These are good points, but a lot of lists like the eBay and Amazon lists only mention the poster's handle and not a full name. However, the comment "a negative review of an employer can bite you back in a number of ways" might have a ring of truth. There appear to be a recruiter or two that will not work with me anymore. I don't really care (refer to my previous post where I mentioned a bad recruiter), but some people might be bothered by such things.

Lauren

- And I sign my real name. Maybe I am shooting myself in the foot. But if I am the best candidate for the job and the recruiter will pay me, then they will probably place me because I might be the candidate that gets the job and it is money in their pocket. If a recruiter does not want to pay me, then they should know that I have taken 3 employers to the DLSE to get paid and they might want to avoid being number 4. Mutual aversion in the latter case.

Also, no one has mentioned that, even without the legal ramifications,
attaching your name to a negative review of an employer can bite you
back in a number of ways.

- Recruiters and employers sometimes talk to one another. If someone
finds you've reviewed them poorly, they'll probably be quite happy to
tell their side of the story given a chance...

- Anyone Googling your name when they're considering hiring you would
likely come across the reviews. While it is possible they'd think,
"oh, I'll be a much better boss than that," it's just as likely
they'll think, "hmm, this person complains alot... sounds like
trouble."

Until next time...
