Hi, fellow tech writers.

I signed up for the list a couple of days ago, and thought I'd introduce
myself.

I write all application content and documentation for a smallish
on-demand software company in Foster City, California. I've converted
(with the help of a consultant!) our manuals from MS Word to DocBook,
and now to DITA. I'm currently using Syntext Serna 3.0 for authoring,
with specialized DocBook and DITA DTDs. We'll be looking to develop
contextual help for our application in the near future, and will be
thinking about localization too. I'm interested in finding out how
others deal with single-sourcing, CMS, etc.

I've been doing marketing writing and technical writing here in the bay
area and down in Orange County for about twelve years, after finding out
no-one wanted to pay me to talk about Dostoevsky when I got out of
college.

I'll look forward to reading and participating in the list.

thanks

Chris Vickery
