I made it a condition of employment that Marketing doesn't touch my work.
It belongs to the Company and they can rewrite all they like, but they have
to take my name off.
They also don't get to tell me what or how to write.
There was not much chance that this would happen, and it didn't cost them
anything, so they happily agreed.
