RE: Letter of Recommendation

With only a few (maybe two?) exceptions, I've left
contracts/positions on really good terms. I ask for a written referal
from my immediate manager and I've received some letters that make ME
blush. However, I also approach 3-4 people whom I've worked with and
ask them if they'll allow me to use their name and receive phone
calls...nothing written, just asking for permission and I've never
been told no.

I usualy try to pick someone high up outside of my immediate
hierarchy, and 2-3 different levels in the hierarchy. Prospective
employers like to see that a couple of staff dev or qa people enjoyed
working with you.
