RE: getting the comma into Frame index subentries

Open the booknameIX.fm file, and choose the Reference Pages view.
The first reference page should be named IX, and that's the one you
want.  (Note that the IX reference pages in the individual files have
no effect on the index you generate for the book. Only the IX
reference page in the IX file itself matters.)

Look for the paragraph tagged "SeparatorsIX".  You will probably find
that it starts with one or more spaces, followed by something like
the string "1, 2-3".

The character(s) that precede the "1" determine what characters
separate the text of the entry from the first page number. What
you need to have here is a comma as the first character followed
by one or more spaces.

The characters that are between the "1" and the "2" define what
characters separate each page entry from the one that precedes it.
The default is a comma and a space.

The character(s) between the "2" and the "3" define what
punctuation/separation you use for page range entries. I believe
the default is a hyphen, but some people prefer to lengthen this
to an en-dash or chang it to the string "to", particularly if using
compound (e.g. chapter-folio) page numbering.
