TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
LOL! I am still trying to convince my parents, especially my mom, that
the internet does not exist solely on my husband's computer. Every time
she needs something researched online, she calls us and states "that
Michael (my husband) can sure find anything on his computer!" I have
given up the futile arguments - she and my Dad have their own computer
(for email) and they still can't quite grasp that they easily can do the
search themselves. I have resigned myself and my husband to being
personal searchers (like personal bodyguards, I guess) on the internet
for my parents - to think, my Dad was a computer whiz (mainframe,
granted) back in his day - that was the 60s and 70s however - never
quite got a handle on the whole PC thing!

I gave up on my Dad and cell phones...he could never grasp that hitting
"send" thing. :) My mother can still pick up anything that comes
along...but not my Dad...personally I think it is a "mind over matter"
thing...anything that does not really matter...he don't pay no mind!
