A great article in one of the STC publications many years ago specified
"more than four". I'm not looking it up this minute, but I think either S&W
or the CMS rule is the same.

Listing three items is simple --

a COMMA, b COMMA, and CEE PERIOD. Not much opportunity for confusion.
