I'd have to actually have a job like that to be able to answer the
question. I went from having one foot in an engineer job and
the other in a tech wrier job to having one in a tech writer job
and the other in management. The only jobs I've ever had
where my OTJ duties were limited to writing were 1099
contracts (and when you're self-employed you're still doing
more than one job). So I really couldn't say if I'd be "happy"
doing the "simple job" of tech writing or if it would just
become boring after a while.
