Excellent post. I nearly went batty looking for ways to do Running
Headers / Footers and Cross References in ID, and finally found ways
around them, but they weren't a) nearly as elegant, or b) nearly as
obvious as the Frame solutions.
I ended up using Section Markers in place of running headers and
manually inserting hyperlinks instead of using the vastly more
intuitive cross references, but both solutions felt kludgey compared
to the Frame variations.
I haven't had a need yet for conditional text, but it would be nice to
have it in case I did.
